Probably the best display of Christmas lights in Carson city is the Silver and Snowflakes Festival of Lights. Since it's start in 1988 the festival has grown to a spectacle that includes all of downtown and thousands of onlookers. Past events have included free sleigh rides, performances by local schools and of course the official tree lighting led by the Governor of Nevada. The annual Carson Valley Parade of Lights is another must see event. Watch eye popping floats and a certain special someone from the North pole as they travel their route from Gilman Avenue to Minden Park on Highway 395.
